What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting/tax advisory?
I always enjoyed working with numbers and solving complex problems early in school. In college, after taking an introductory class, I liked how accounting made sense and had clear rules. As I learned more, I saw tax accounting was a good mix of working with details and helping people plan financially. I also liked that this field has a clear career path, potential for continuous learning and long-term stability.
What part of your work do you find most rewarding?
The most rewarding part of my job is helping clients resolve tax issues and find solutions that make a real difference in their financial situations. Whether it is to minimize their tax liability, stay compliant, or plan, it feels good to know I am making things easier for them. I also like that tax work is always changing, there’s always something new to learn, so it never gets boring.
Do you have a favorite book, movie, or podcast?
I love all feel-good movies! Two of my favorite movies are The Devil Wears Prada and Notting Hill. They’re light and funny – it’s perfect because between working and juggling two little boys, I just need a feel-good movie to end my end. We also love watching Pixar movies as a family. Our current favorite is Luca!
What’s your go-to way to relax after a busy workday?
After a busy workday and a crazy evening with my two energic boys, my go-to way to relax is keeping it simple. Once they’re in bed and the house is clean, I love putting on a good show with a hot cup of tea and enjoying a few quiet moments with myself. It’s like a mini vacation for me!
