Partner, CPA, CGMA, MBA

Surinder Singh has spent more than 30 years in public practice, building lasting relationships with clients and guiding them through complex tax and financial challenges. As founder of Singh & Associates LLP, his work centers on tax advisory, planning, and compliance for partnerships and corporations, with a strong specialization in the real estate and construction industries.

Surinder’s expertise includes assisting real estate clients in developing waterfall schedules, communicating with lenders, and ensuring compliance in all matters. He manages tax-related services for five major private equity real estate funds that invest in multifamily properties across more than 20 states, representing over $5 billion in assets.

Known for his hands-on approach, Surinder places a high value on understanding each client’s business inside and out. Many of his clients have worked with him for more than 25 years, a testament to the trust and personal connection he fosters. His philosophy is simple: by deeply understanding the people behind the business, he can provide advice that is both technically sound and truly relevant.

Q&A with Surinder

What is the most valuable lesson you've learned in your professional career?
The most valuable lesson I have learned is that being honest and upfront with clients is always the best policy. Being transparent and honest always pays at the end. This has been a cornerstone of my professional career.
What part of your work do you find most rewarding?
Helping and advising clients in their tax planning and navigating them through new tax laws always makes my job rewarding. Clients appreciate that someone is watching over their tax planning and is looking out for their best interests.
What's one interesting fact people might not know about you?
Travelling is one of my biggest passions. I have visited over 40 countries in five continents. I also enjoy reading about different destinations and watching travel documentaries as well. Travelling for me is a lot of fun, as I find learning about new cultures and different foods very interesting. My favorite places that I’ve visited include Japan, Norway, and New Zealand. I hope one day to visit Antarctica as well.
What's your go-to way to relax after a busy workday?
My 10 month old grandson has been such a blessing in my life. Everyday, I look forward to spending time with him and playing together. He brings me so much joy and happiness. Spending time with him makes me feel relaxed and so happy.
