What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting/tax advisory?

My interest in accounting started in high school when I took my first accounting class. I was drawn to how structured and detail-oriented the subject was — everything had a process, and every number had a purpose. I enjoyed the satisfaction that came with balancing accounts and solving financial puzzles. That early experience sparked a passion that’s only grown stronger as I’ve progressed professionally.

What is the most valuable lesson you've learned in your professional career?

In the accounting profession, the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that attention to detail is everything — but it’s equally important to understand the bigger picture. Numbers tell a story, and being able to interpret that story accurately helps clients make smarter decisions. Balancing precision with strategic thinking has been key to growing in this field.

What part of your work do you find most rewarding?

What I find most rewarding about tax preparation is the problem-solving aspect. I enjoy working through detailed information, applying ever-changing tax laws, and making sure everything is accurate and complete. There’s a real sense of accomplishment in organizing complex data and ensuring everything aligns correctly. It’s satisfying to take something that can seem chaotic and turn it into something orderly and precise.

What's one interesting fact people might not know about you?

I was born and raised in Thailand and stand at 6 foot 4 — which tends to surprise people! Growing up in a different culture gave me a unique perspective that I carry with me in both my personal and professional life.

What's your go-to way to relax after a busy workday?

After a busy workday, I like to unwind by spending time outdoors or with my dog. Whether it’s golfing, snowboarding in the winter, or just relaxing at home, those moments help me recharge and keep a healthy balance between work and life. Having that outlet makes me more focused and productive during the day.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or podcast?

I’m really into horology — the study and art of timekeeping — so I enjoy learning about the history of mechanical watches. I also like watching true crime documentaries; something about uncovering details and following the evidence appeals to my analytical side.
